ANALYSIS OF FACIAL EXPRESSION OF A PATIENT WITH MÖBIUS SYNDROME

Abstract:

Analysis of facial expression of a patient with Möbius syndrome OBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was to assess the muscular manifestations of patients with and without the Möbius syndrome in different manifestations of expression. CASE REPORT: Two female children, 11 years old, one of which carries the SM and the other without SM underwent photos at rest, smile, fear and seriousness. The children were seated in a chair positioned at a distance of 1 meter tripod with a height of 30 cm. The photos were printed on graph paper by means of which the comparison was made of the expressions and the effects caused muscle. Both the situation of a smile, seriousness and scare children with MS showed a marked decrease of movements planned for the actions. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that the children without MS has the ability to express different emotions in different ways and objective, whereas the child with SM had little expressiveness and with compensatory movement as a way to overcome their difficulties. This demonstrates that patients with MS are able to differentiate from each other facial expressions, but with modifications muscle millimeter.
