MALIGNANT MELANOMA IN THE NASAL CAVITY. CASE REPORT

Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: a case report and review of the conduct of our service. CASE REPORT: Patient 64 years old who consulted for recurrent epistaxis and physical examination was found bleeding polyp in right nostril. Incisional biopsy is performed in an office with nasal melanoma REPORTING right, takes place mid facial degloving for the removal of the tumor, which was found in lower anterior region of the nasal septum SPN remaining free to the patient relapsed again. Post surgery, with the goal of treatment for oncology. CONCLUSION: Malignant melanoma of the nasal cavity and sinuses occupies less than 1% of tumors of this place. The complete excision is the treatment of choice. The prognosis of this tumor is poor and the average survival is 2 years. While melanoma has been listed in the bit radiosensitive tumors, favorable results have been published with radiotherapy.
